Happy Year of the Ox

As in the Chinese New Year which doesn't actually start until February. I am writing this post at 9:15 in the morning because I am not sure where the Day will take me, and I want to squeeze one more post into 2008. Most other Bloggers are doing year summations or top ten favorite things of 2008 lists. Obviously I am sooo not most bloggers. The past year has had it's fair share of ups and downs. I became very invested in the internet community. And more or less invested in my actual community. 2009 promises a lot of new beginnings, I hope that I have the foresight to follow the correct paths more than the popular ones.
The above certificate is in actuality proof that though I mostly watch web broadcasted episodes I spend a lot of my time watching television. If you haven't checked out the Show Chuck I strongly suggest you do, The show has great humor and a lot of heart. I could list a number of shows you should look into, but I wont today... Happy New Years Eve!!!!!

Retail How I loathe you

It really isn't a secret that I hate my job. If it is a secret I am doing something wrong. The reason I bring this up is because even though I hate it, there are some moments that brighten my days. Take the previously mentioned car chase for example. Another thing that always brings a smile to my face is how I've rather quickly become the guy you go to if you have a question or a problem or a project that must be done. This morning 15 minutes after I was scheduled to leave one of our electronics associates came hollering my name from across the store. Their TV wall was broken and not displaying and they were freaking out. So I went over to electronics messed with a couple of the t.v.s discovered the problem and fixed it. If you are good at something you hate how good would you be at something you enjoy?

The Great Chase

Last night as I was getting to work, I noticed a car parked an odd distance from the front door but still in front of the building. As I was getting ready to park my car A customer slammed open a fire door with a large box and Jumped into the car. I slammed my car into drive and started chasing the Blue Ford Explorer through the Parking Lot with my Horn Blaring and making just a lot of unnecessary noise. I chased them (there was a woman driving) through the back streets and onto the main road. At which point I stopped following them as I wasn't likely to catch them. And what did you do at work yesterday?

Life's Little Moments

While I find more and more that sleep evades me, I am finding more and more people that I enjoy spending my waking moments with. This Laurie girl that I mentioned previously, for example. She started as a pen-pal and grew to be someone that I am genuinely smitten with. Obviously with my history I am more guarded than I have been in the past. Which can only be a good thing. I am far too old to still be throwing my heart out to every girl that smiles in my direction. I've noticed that in the interim of my growing attraction to miss Laurie some people in my more immediate surroundings have been noticing me, which translates to more hiding on my part. I have decided to nickname them more for my amusement than this blog. As of right now only one of them has a nickname I call her hummingbird, which to be honest is probably the rudest, cute nickname I have ever coined. The reason I have named her Hummingbird is that she has a bad habit of hovering around whenever our shifts overlap. (Which thankfully with me on Graveyard is not very often.) She is a nice enough girl. She just has a lot of Drama that I am not looking to invest in. I.e two children at least one angry abusive baby's daddy oh and I DO NOT DATE WAL~MART!  That is I no longer date WAL~MART. LOL. I honestly do not need another Chapter of the I hate James Club... It is not a Freaking franchise for goodness sakes.

A Complete Collection

So a couple of months back I told you about these little Spider-Man figures that I had decided to collect. As of today I have the complete set. My friends are freaking awesome.  Laurie sent me the last figure as my Christmas present (it arrived today) and last week I received the third figure as my secret santa gift from NFI (a youtube collab channel that I occasionally post videos for.) Laurie deserves a post dedicated to her as she has become a large part of my life.  She is truly an amazing woman and I will tell you more about her in the future...
Of course you know that now that the set is 100 percent complete I am 100 percent cooler... its simple math really.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to one and all.

The Countdown...

Eek retail Christmas..... such a scary thought..... sorry about the lack of post last night, I was having trouble acquiring a ride to work due to the weather... And tonight I have people competing for the opportunity. Apparently the route to my home has become a badge of honor amongst the 4x4 elite.  go figure.

Project 4 Awesome!

Today on youtube we celebrated the Project 4 Awesome,  Which is basically when a group of video creators and viewers talk about their favorite charities and take over youtube's home page with the same screenshot thumbnail image. The project 4 awesome last year is what inspired me to start making actual videos and my first actual video came just two days later. Today has made an impression as well, that is to say, I love my hobby and the people I have gotten to know because of it. The video I made today was to call attention to The Marine Toys for Tots foundation, which I have always felt was a huge blessing in so many kids lives.  if you would like to donate a new unwrapped toy or money  you can go to this website (http://www.toysfortots.org/ ) or visit your local T4T representative. The best part about this was directly after an unnecessary comment by an absentee parent, my channel was flooded with over two thousand  views and comments. It's nice to have those little Poetic Justice moments now and again.

Not in the mood.

For some odd reason I didn't go to sleep until about 5:30 tonight, and then I proceeded to sleep until a little after 1 am. It is a tad unfortunate as I had a couple of things to do last night. Sigh, what can you do... The sleep feels damn good. and now to keep myself awake by watching random movies... Hooray... I have plans to make a video talking about charities sometime early tomorrow, it should be amusing.... if not really odd.

and sometimes the lights are left on

So after my craptastic sleep over at work I came home that morning and apparently left my headlights on all damn day. On the upside it encouraged me to finally purchase Booster Cables. Who the hell owns a 30 year old vehicle and doesn't own booster cables? So uh I don't want to go to work for the effing record.

Random Fact: A second storm is on it's way in.... I am so not amused.

The longest Four Miles...

Not much has happened since the post this morning. *cough* I mean yesterday. I slept for a little over four hours. Made Chicken Cordon Bleu, and talked on the phone with someone, who is intelligent but maybe a little slow at times. Oh and I added about five hours of music to my Ipod which I plan on enjoying while at work tonight. I am really really not looking forward to the drive down my hill tonight. four miles has never seemed so far in my life. And trust me when I was in Germany and running 4 miles at a minimum it seemed really effing far.

Random Fact:
My current attire is limited to a pair of boxer shorts... be jealous.

I can has heat wave?

I went to a holiday party last night, (yes i fudged the date on the post so sue me.) one where thankfully I didn't have to dress like a jolly red fat guy. The party was held at my Pharmacists house in the BFE of washington, on the way to his house in a 7 car convoy we got very lost and drove completely out of our way. The party was actually a blast, I discovered my Pharmacist and his wife (also a pharmacist) are insane. We showed up and they were dressed in what can only be described as bad '70's porn star holiday themed velour.  As I said the party was a blast after the party we trekked out in large numbers so as not to get further lost and then once we thought we knew where we were going we split up. I got lost, for about twenty minutes driving first the right way down a freeway then doubting it was the right way turning around driving the wrong way and then finally driving the right way. (all of this mind you as it is just dumping snow everywhere around me. Visibility was at maybe 15 feet.) after I dropped off the co-worker that had decided I was taking her to the party I attempted to come home. I couldn't make it up the hill. (I made three attempts.) after the third failed attempt I decided to hell with it I'll just sleep at work. this works in theory when I was a kid we would spend entire days with my mother at work and we would just crash in either pet cages,  (my two younger and obviously smaller brothers.) or on large 50 pound bags of pet food. (Usually me.) Being as my store is rather hectic while we are closed with stockers doing their best.(more or less) I thought it advantageous to attempt to sleep in one of the unused offices until I had to be at work. I managed to get an hour or two, but for the most part, wal~mart's definition of  unused is sort of like a prostitutes definition of a slow night, either way somebody got effed in the A. I found out while at work that I will be back on the overnight schedule starting tonight. My drive home was mostly uneventful I only slid three or four times. (the last of which narrowly missed an officer.) and now I have every intention of trying to sleep the night away.

Random fact: the picture is one that I took from my front door I was going to take a better one but it is freaking cold outside.
***EDIT: I am having some issues uploading the photo I will get it up when I can.
***Edit 2: the view from my front door... brrr.

Putting the Fun into Funeral

Yeah, the title is insensitive, on the off chance you are unaware this is James' blog. If you are sensitive leave. Today I went to a funeral for a co-worker it was cold and rainy and exactly the type of weather that a funeral should accompany. The gentleman who died was a really good guy, he had worked for the company for over 4 years and had made a lot of friends. If you exclude the Drama that preceded the day prior to the funeral. (upper echelons of management less than enthusiastic about the vast majority of their employees all requesting time off.) It was a military service(which obviously struck a chord with me.)  And as far as outdoor services go, it was well done.  After the service we headed to the reception to offer our condolences and to take part in the exchange of memories and food. Not my average friday, but not the worst way to spend one.

Random Fact: I was told over and over again that I have a similar sense of humor to our former co-worker if that is so, he would have been amused by the cartoon.

the web-head

I will never tire of spider-man related internet puns, ever. I bought a used Spider-man game today and have enjoyed it a lot. it isn't Fable 2 but it is fun to run around and smash things... Tomorrow the developers of Fable 2 are releasing downloadable content for the Game which consists of more stuff to do and collect I am genuinely excited... oh the fun I will have...

Random Fact, Saturday is the last day I have to portray Santa, and I am doing it for underprivileged children, I like when I can make children smile. La la la la.

Ps I actually have the matching Stocking to this "Santa" hat didn't know this was out there... I must own it.

Truth & Consequences '08

So the truth of the matter is that I need to leave this house, Red is leaving the middle of next month, and I will not survive living with the idiot by my self, it is highly likely that I would harm him.
The consequence of this is that I am very unlikely to find another house located as close to the craptastic  job as I am now. not to mention the sad fact that I have to hopefully find new people that I can survive living with.

what is the wanderer to do?

Thank Gawd it is Monday! That will probably be the only time that is ever written. My weekend officially started today at 12 noon. and I do not have to be back at work until 5 am thursday, this makes me very happy, I have every intention of sleeping as long as humanly possible tomorrow.  trust me it is for the best.

Random Fact, Santa.... still effing creepy.

The Nutcracker, and Black Santa

If you didn't catch on with the previous post I have been portraying Santa at work for the past two weekends, (and will be again next saturday) one draw back to this is small children that kick and scream, because they are disturbed by the Jolly fat man in the red and white suit. Another drawback is the occasional child that reach and grab certain parts of Santa's lower anatomy and squeeze.... true story happened to me.

Random fact.... I needz sleep.
